Text 7.6

The soul is eternal, unchangeable, pure, individual, the knower of the body, the shelter, infallible, the seer, the cause, pervading, aloof, and uncovered.

Text 7.7

Learned persons should determine the soul within these twelve symptoms. They should give up the false conception of “I” and “mine” in regard to their material bodies.

Text 7.8

Just as an expert blacksmith can abstract particles of gold from a mixture of rock by the help of necessary ingredients and instruments, similarly a person who is conversant with the science of the soul can search out the fragmental spiritual spark within his material body by the help of the process for attaining the self and thus become joyful.

For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.
